WWII Open Warfare is a strategic simulation of world events from the 1st August 1939, up to the conclusion of hostilities, when ever this may be.

Every nation of importance is covered by the game and the moderator attempts to maintain a historical basis for each country of the era.  WWII Open War covers all aspects of running a country from morale to production, from research to waging the war on land, sea and air.

Players take on the role of the leadership of one of the world's great powers struggling for control of the world in the mid 20th Century.  Nations can be maintained by either teams of players or individual players with a fixed fee for the turn processing of each nation.

The base unit of military land forces is the Division (be it armoured, infantry, mechanised or one of many others), with smaller units, such as Ranger Regiments, N.K.V.D. Security Battalions and S.A.S. Battalions also found within the Game.

Airforces are composed of individual models of airframes (Bf109's, Mustangs etc) operating in air groups.  Whilst at sea individual capital ships operate alongside destroyer and cruiser groups, with many other formations available for command, construction and destruction.

The game runs as one turn equalling one game month, with a minimum 7 turns and a maximum (ideal) 12 turns per real world year. It is played by e-mail only (PBEM).
